Walker has incredible rhythm through his delivery. All great MLB pitchers have a couple key points of their delivery. Walker is no exception.
Hand Rhythm – Whether pitchers are going over their head with their glove or keeping it low, almost all pitchers hands are in sync with their leg coming up. After Walkers hands break, the glove and the lead leg move in sync. Whatever the glove arm does, the throwing arm follows. When the front foot hits the ground his glove is as far as his front knee or further in order to maintain his trunk posture.
Foot Rhythm – The rhythm of Buehler’s feet in the delivery establish how his tempo will be. Slow or fast tempo can put your hands out of sync with your body. His feet start slow and accelerate into his leg lift. This puts his body into a accelerated rhythm in order to get his body moving forward at the peak of his leg lift. When his lead leg comes down it is in a direct path to home. This allows him to use all of the momentum that he created earlier in his delivery and transfer it into legs when he lands, in posture.
